What is Raynor Massage?

Raynor Massage was created by Canadian-born Naturopath Brandon Raynor.

Unlike traditional Western massage, this bodywork involves the muscles, skeletal system, lines of energy within the body and breath work. Brandon Raynor studied both Western and Eastern forms of massage extensively and developed Raynor massage with the very simple intent of finding tension in the whole body and releasing it.

The massage includes areas often ignored by massage therapists including the belly, hands, feet, head and sacrum. These areas often store our stress and tension, both physical and emotional, so the benefits of this therapeutic massage are widely felt throughout the whole body.

This treatment is ideal for those suffering with:

  • Migraines
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Perimenopause and Menopause
  • Sports injuries and prevention of injuries
  • Back and neck pain
  • Insomnia

All massages will take place in Sara’s home treatment room in Beckenham, South London.

Sara’s massage story

“I have always been a tactile person. As a child, I loved looking after younger children and cuddling the babies. Now with my own children, one man-child and two little girls, and as a yoga teacher, I see how much comfort human-beings get from being touched. It is soothing, relaxing and connects us all as human beings. Whatever our background, thoughts or beliefs, ultimately we are made of the same stuff! We are all connected and simple touch crosses any boundaries that we can make up.

My yoga classes have evolved to incorporate more hands-on assists. I assist my students during the class to offer support, comfort or deepen their pose. I also offer a relaxing assist at the end of the class to further their experience in Savasana. I have lost track of how many times I am told this is the best part of the class. Sadly, once we grow up, we don’t offer or receive touch as often and people miss it.

I decided to train in Raynor Massage as I wanted to offer more to my students and to my local community in Beckenham and South London. For me, Raynor incorporates the best of Eastern and Western massage techniques and the focus on the mind/body connection fits really well with my yogic beliefs.

It is not a gentle, feathery massage but it truly connects with the root of our tension, physically and emotionally.”
